5 out of 5 stars Stops me from grinding my teeth at night while I sleep....   February 10, 2010
Alan J. Cassaro (Cleveland, OH)
My dentist is going to extract 5 of my teeth this coming Friday. I don't look forward to that at all, but he has to. I broke off my front tooth at the base. My other front teeth are loose, so he wants to pull all of my front teeth and give me a removable bridge. He noticed that I've broken 3 crowns in my mouth because of my grinding. Well, rather than pay the 5 hundred bucks for a molded mouthpiece made by the dentist, I ordered this. It works fine. I also have sleep apnea, so I'm a mess at night. But, it's easy to shape with the boiling water, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the 5 bills. My teeth are going to cost me a fortune on top of that, Get it, I have no complaints, other than misplacing it every day...

I'M BROKE SO WAS UNABLE TO BUY A EXPENSIVE MOUTH GUARD FROM MY LOCAL DENTIST. THEY CHARGE FROM $400-$700 for a great NIGHT GUARD.
My husband picked this SHOCK GUARD up and I was very steptical but he helped me put it on last night.
WE DID HAVE TO DO THE 5 STEPS TWICE THOUGH TO GET A EXCELLENT FIT!!
IT WILL TAKE A LITLE TIME TO GET USE TO IT IF YOU HAVE NEVER OWNED ONE.
I'VE BEEN WEARING ONE ON FOR YEARS SO AS LONG AS IT FITS TIGHT AND IS COMFORTABLE I WILL SLEEP WELL KNOWING THAT WHEN I GRIND MY TEETH I WON'T BE WEARING THEM DOWN AS FAST OR EVEN BREAKING THEM.

JUST KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS TOTALLY TO GET A GREAT FIT!! PLEASE REPEAT ALL THE STEPS AGAIN IF YOU DON'T GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST OR EVEN THE SECOND TIME IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME AND YOU CAN NOT BEAT THE GREAT PRICE!

GREAT GUARDING,

I've used plenty of different types of mouthguards and this one is decent. It doesn't really hold its shape very well and doesn't form very tight at least not compared to others. One nice thing is its very soft and doesn't tire your jaw using it.

I use this mouth guard for when I train krav maga. It fits well and is not uncomfortable. I use to wear the double mouth guard but found that it was hard to talk and breath with it on. This is a great mouth piece. My only con for this product is that it does not come with a carrying case. If you want a carrying case (and I suggest you use one) get the shock doctor carrying case.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't Last, torn up fast   May 21, 2009

Set/molded pretty easily. Used once, and the plastic got chewed up pretty badly quickly. Halfway through my game, I didn't want to use it anymore, because plastic shards were coming off. Don't recommend.
